Raqs

Raqs is an unstitched embroidered raw silk suit in zinc, the most pared-back construction in Mah-e-Noor Vol. II, with a single combined organza lace as the only organza trim on the shirt. The shirt is constructed across three embroidered and sequinned raw silk front panels, with the back in dyed raw silk. Where other outfits in the collection apply separate daman borders, daman laces, sleeve borders, sleeve motifs, or finishing laces, Raqs uses a single combined organza lace that runs across both the front daman and the sleeves simultaneously, keeping the embroidered raw silk surface clean and without additional organza layering. There is no daman border, no sleeve border, no finishing lace, and no trouser border, so the embroidery and sequin work of the raw silk panels themselves carry the visual weight of the outfit without competing trim. The trouser is in dyed raw silk. The chiffon dupatta is embroidered and sequinned with a dupatta lace at its edge. Handmade tassels at the neckline and golden samosa and ribbon lace finishing complete the three-piece ensemble.
